DEI Event Comes to Shreveport-Bossier: the Colfax Massacre!

Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington took to social media on Friday, April 25, to address a recent news article that suggested crime is on the rise in Bossier Parish. The article was based on an increase in “calls for service” to the Bossier Sheriff’s Office, but Sheriff Whittington believed it is important to give the public the full story and the facts behind those numbers.

BOSSIER BEAT

The well-known muralist and realist painter has been selected as the featured artist for Bossier Arts Council’s fundraiser gala, Artini. With this year’s theme of monochrome and jazzy announced, artist Eric Francis has been selected to be featured during the event. Artini will be held on June 14, from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m, at the Livemore Casino & Hotel Louisiana. Eric Francis is a contemporary realist painter, muralist, teacher and museum coordinator for Southern University’s Museum of Art Shreveport. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Haitian parents with six siblings. Eventually, he made his way to Louisiana and earned his associate’s degree from Southern University and a bachelor of studio painting from Centenary College.
