Hello friends, neighbors, and fellow residents of the SB area. John Settle has given me this opportunity to introduce myself as one of his newest reporters. My family and I have been residents of Shreveport since 1986 when my husband was transferred to BAFB.. We bought a home (the same one we still live in), joined one of the local Catholic churches, got our kids into local schools, had another baby and made this our 'new' home. At each of his assignments we bought a home and immersed ourselves in the activities of our new community.

Following the March 29, 2025, municipal elections, Bossier City welcomes a new city council, combining experienced voices with fresh leadership. These elected officials will formally take office on July 1, 2025, aiming to lead Bossier City into a period of growth, improved governance, and greater fiscal accountability.

CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System celebrates a successful year of fundraising, receiving $800,000 through Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) donations. The hospital’s foundation will honor its CMN corporate partners and donors at a breakfast celebration on April 2, 2025, at the CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center.

All but one major NW LA sales taxing jurisdictions saw dips in their March 2025 receipts vs last year. Bossier City-Parish realized a 2.1% increase. Plain Dealing and Benton showed an increase, whereas Haughton saw their receipts decrease.
