The Shreveport Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is presenting two free outdoor concerts on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25 at Betty Virginia Park in Shreveport. Both concerts are open to the public and are sponsored in part by Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation. Seating will be socially distanced and masks are required.
Shreveport, LA – Prize Fest, an online Film, Music, Food, Fashion and Startup Festival, announced its winners tonight in a live broadcasted awards show watched throughout the country and the world. The online festival, in its ninth year, streamed the work of independent filmmakers, fashion designers, musicians, chefs and startups to a global audience. The culmination of the work of these creative entrepreneurs being shown online earned Prize Fest the title of being the largest online film, music, food, fashion and startup event in the world. In its 10 day run, Prize Fest showed 20 films, hosted seven days of filmmaker panels and mentor roundtables, 26 live festival update shows and featured a globally broadcasted live fashion show and competition and an eight hour live music festival.

Now through October 29, the library is seeking photo submissions from the public to include on the Freedom Tree.

The diversity of the veterans has been good for the area, because it brings together people of every race and ethnicity, which has allowed a more open relationship between and among the citizens. Veterans enhance any area where they live and work. Veterans have to be shown that they matter to a grateful nation.
The BPCC Foundation, Inc. has received a $20,000 private gift from Brookshire Grocery Company to establish a new scholarship for BPCC students. This scholarship will be named the Brookshire’s Super 1 Foods Endowed Scholarship in Computer and Information Science (Cybersecurity).
