Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department Domestic Violence Unit have arrested a man in connection with an incident that occurred on August 1, 2025, in the 1800 block of Jenkins Avenue.

Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department Domestic Violence Unit have arrested a man in connection with an incident that occurred on August 1, 2025, in the 1800 block of Jenkins Avenue.

On August 13th, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers with the Shreveport Police Department were dispatched to 7044 Youree Drive in reference to a theft in progress. The location is a strip mall containing several connected businesses.

Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Warrant Unit, have arrested Carderrek Johnson in connection with an alleged incident that occurred in March 2025.

On August 12, 2025, the Benton Police Department initiated an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse of a child involving Kenneth Wayne O’Briant.


Around 2:00 a.m. on August 17, 2025, DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Angela Jordan conducted a traffic stop on I-49 near the Hwy 175 exit after dispatchers confirmed a white Volkswagen Arteon had been reported stolen out of Texas. Sgt. Jordan was quickly joined by K-9 Cpl. Kelby Pearah and K-9 Karen, along with other deputies in the area. The driver was taken into custody without incident.

It is always interesting to me when Louisiana has a case before the U.S. Supreme Court as we do now, Callais v. Louisiana. Our never-ending odyssey of congressional redistricting continues to be just that.

So far in 2025, the Shreveport Police Department has responded to nearly 1,800 calls for service involving domestic violence — that’s up 15% from last year and nearly 20% from 2023. While officers have made over 250 arrests in domestic violencerelated cases, we know arrests alone won’t solve the problem.


Over the past 90 days, SPD has noticed a clear connection between vehicle burglaries and vehicle thefts—and both are on the rise in Districts 4 & 5 (Highland & the Shreveport-Barksdale corridor).


Shreveport police have arrested 33-year-old Courtney Michelle Brown in connection with a July 28 burglary and vehicle theft.
