The Shreveport Police Department continues its ongoing efforts to reduce violent crime by removing firearms from individuals who are prohibited from possessing them. In recent days, multiple arrests have been made, highlighting the department’s commitment to keeping the community safe.
On October 3, 2025, at approximately 2:30 PM, Louisiana Probation and Parole Agents, in coordination with the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crime Abatement Team (VCAT) and Warrants Unit, executed a parole warrant at 3001 Newport Street, Shreveport, LA.
On September 29, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Egan Street and Gilbert Street. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle in the 400 block of Egan Street with multiple bullet holes. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered 55-year-old Gerald Damon Washington, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
A Shreveport man has been arrested following an investigation by the Shreveport Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit.
