Tuesday, June 2, Dr. T. Lamar Goree, Superintendent of the Caddo Parish public school system, recommended to members of the Caddo Parish School Board approval of the 2020-21 Proposed Caddo Parish School Board Budget. First thought was, why the rush? Why rush the approval when the 2020-21 Caddo Parish School Board Budget has a deadline date of June 30, but there wasn’t a rush, or was there?

By the time this is printed many of the questions/concerns stated here may already have been addressed. Mayor Adrian Perkins' Commission on Racial and Cultural Diversity really does appear to be "knee jerk," reactionary politics (to a national tragedy). The formation of such a group in Shreveport as well as the members of said group continues a "somewhat" trend of the mayor's tendency to remain in a comfort zone in/with his appointments. Shall we consider?:

School is officially out, although for most of us, we've been at home since March; still "in school ," but not the traditional brick-and-mortar style. Most districts in the area were able to have graduation ceremonies in some shape, form or fashion. The class of 2020 missed out on a lot the last nine weeks - prom, parties, walking the halls for the last time and traditional graduation - but I know this group will move forward into furthering their education or entering the work force with a new-found resilience and strength. Congratulations, Class of 2020!
