Listen Up: What I was taught
Go to school and get a quality education or learn a trade; work for a living and provide for your family; love your neighbors and do no one any harm; if you and your “girlfriend” should have a child, make the girlfriend your wife and take care of the child; respect your elders; respect authority (Romans 13); last and certainly not least, “Be faithful to our God.” In a strange, oldfashioned kind of way, our elders were telling and showing us, I believe, that “Black Lives Do Matter,” and it begins at home!
