LSU Health School of Medicine hosts largest Camp Tiger in its 21-year history
Camp Tiger, hosted by incoming, first and second year medical students at LSU Health Shreveport, is honored to present its’ largest and 21st day camp from June 6-10. The free, five-day camp is for children and teens ages 5 to 18 years old living with physical and cognitive challenges such as cystic fibrosis, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism and more.

By the middle of June, you’ll be able to visit one of downtown Shreveport’s most attractive storefronts in a way that hasn’t been possible in 30 years or longer. 616 Texas St., the building constructed in 1926 by Austrian immigrant Herman Zodiag, is going back to its roots as a retail shop called Refine Design.

Standing alone in the shade of a lone pine tree on the shore of Cross Lake, Mayor Adrian Perkins announced his candidacy for a second term as mayor of Shreveport last Tuesday. There were no cheering supporters behind him, and only a handful of quiet supporters looking on. Supporters were outnumbered by lunch diners inside Orlandeaux’s Café, where the hastily called press conference was held. Emails announcing the presser went out at 4:45 p.m. the previous day, Memorial Day.
