B. Have security cameras installed in more residences/structures and have them tied into the Real Time Crime Center C. Encourage owners of vacant structures to have them posted with NO TRESPASSING SIGNS as authorized by the so-called Squatters Law that makes trespass into posted structures a crime. This law authorizes the Shreveport Police Department to arrest such offenders and/or to require them to vacate the premises. In many instances, this effort will require researching ownership in an effort to identify current ownership of tax sale properties as well as so-called 'heir property'.

Misleading the Public: The Bossier Press-Tribune Fails Its Readers on Term Limits

In its January 22nd issue, the Bossier Press-Tribune—a legacy print and online newspaper funded extensively by tax dollars and designated as the official journal of record for Bossier City—published an article by Stacey Tinsley that grossly mischaracterizes the facts surrounding two entirely separate measures to amend the Bossier City Charter. This is either intentional deception or negligent reporting, but either way, it misleads Bossier residents about one of the most contentious issues in the city’s recent history: term limits.

BOSSIER BEAT

The Bossier Parish Sherriff’s Office announced that Detective Ronald Glovier is the recipient of the Spirit of Jacob Bergren Award. This award is presented to a law enforcement officer who embodies the same qualities admired in Investigator Jacob Bergren of the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, who passed on Jan. 28, 2020.
