This past week the Louisiana Legislature passed into law a bill that requires the displaying of the 10 Commandments in every public- school classroom in the state. Our young people are trying to survive the cultural cesspool that modern American society has become and being reminded of the eternal principles of morality and faith, and encouraging respect for parents, can only benefit them.

Proposed Shreveport Ordinance to Upgrade Downtown Property Standards and Address Downtown Vacant Property Owners

Downtown Shreveport is a focus of an ordinance introduced at the Shreveport City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 11. It was the first reading, and it cannot be adopted prior to June 25. The ordinance is headed to the council’s Property Standards Committee chaired by Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor. Council members Ursula Bowman, Gary Brooks and council president Alan Jackson are on the committee.

Bossier City Charter Commission Votes YEA on Term Limits!

Bossier City Charter Commission voted four years to three nays to include term limits in the recommended changes that will be submitted to the vote of the people at an election in December 2024. The version of term limits approved accommodates key issues that were being addressed in the Bossier Term Limits Coalition petitions for mayoral and council terms with an added amendment changing the nature of the election of at-large council positions.
