Senator Cassidy did the right thing, he should not be censured for his vote

Senator Cassidy did the right thing, he should not be censured for his vote

There used to be a time in America, not too long ago, when character and the truth mattered. There used to be a time in America, not too long ago, when a person was rewarded for doing what he or she believed was the right thing to do. That is no longer the case in America. Lying and trying to cheat is accepted, even by the people who claim to have ethics and integrity. And even by people who claim to be principled Conservatives.

Likely Poor March Sales Tax Receipts

Likely Poor March Sales Tax Receipts

The 4/1/2021 report from the Caddo-Bossier Sales and Use Tax Office will show February sales tax receipts reported in early March for the City of Shreveport and every other Caddo Parish taxing jurisdiction which levies a sales tax of any amount. I’m concerned we will see a rather big drop tp be reported in such sales tax collections for the 3 reasons noted below.

Shreveport water line break woos

Water line breaks on both public and private water lines robbed Shreveport’s water system of pressure last Tuesday according to William Daniels, Director of Department of Water and Sewer (DOWAS). Councilman Nickelson’s honesty is welcomed and should be heeded by his colleagues

I don’t know Councilman John Nickelson, but I respect his honesty and his willingness to say what some in his party won’t say. His recent post on his Facebook page spoke about the mayor’s race that is still almost two years away, and people in his party already announcing their intentions to throw their hats in the ring. It is kind of curious that all of a sudden, the job of being Shreveport mayor has become a hot political ticket. His honesty is welcomed, and should be heeded by his fellow colleagues on the Council.
