On July 14, Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux and Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn released statements following the shooting of former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania.



Judiciary Commission Charges Against Shreveport City Judge Sims--Part One!
The Louisiana Judiciary Commission has scheduled disciplinary hearings against Shreveport City Judge Sheva Sims in November. The Commission has filed six counts against Sims.

Shreveport Police Proactive Officers Have a Productive Weekend!
Chief Wayne Smith and his command staff assigned four patrol officers to a special team with the mission of deterring crime in the downtown area and other parts of Shreveport. Over the course of the weekend, these officers conducted 104 traffic stops and issued 189 citations.

Blessed to have had wonderful parents, Joe and Lucille Cordaro that raised me and my 10 siblings to go to church, go to school, and go to work. As a descendent of Italian American immigrants, we always felt it an honor and privilege to be Americans. My wife Angela of 45 years and I are fortunate to have raised our 3 children here. We have 8 wonderful grandchildren.

Happy Fourth of July holiday weekend. First of all, I congratulate Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. on his historic swearing as the top law enforcement official of our Parish, and I, the Shreveport Police Chief, our local judges and public defender all look forward to working collaboratively with the Sheriff to address issues in our community and court system. And I send condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Sandra McCalla, a tiny lady who was a giant in our local community. The Head Gator will be sorely missed and fondly remembered, even by my City of Byrd!
Qualifying for Fall Elections is Next Week!
The next election is the Nov. 5 Open Primary/Presidential/Congressional election. This national election day also holds local significance as the three towns in Bossier Parish - Benton, Haughton and Plain Dealing - will all host their elections for mayor and town council on that date.
