On Jan.17, at approximately 3:24 a.m., Shreveport Police Department officers observed a vehicle improperly displaying a license plate.

On Jan.21, Shreveport Police Department Sex Crimes detectives were alerted by patrol officers to a reported sexual assault. Emergency interviews were conducted with the victim, a 13-year-old, who courageously disclosed details of the assault.

On December 30, 2024, just after 4:00 PM, Shreveport Police officers responded to reports of an individual threatening people with a firearm in the 2800 block of Emory Street. The suspect, later identified as Christin Mitchell, was reportedly brandishing a firearm, pointing it at individuals, and threatening to kill them. Several witnesses provided statements about the incident. Responding officers quickly located Mitchell and took him into custody without incident. The firearm used during the incident was recovered at the scene, and Mitchell was arrested for one count of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. Further investigation by the Violent Crimes Abatement Team revealed that Mitchell is a convicted felon, and additional charges are pending.
