Shreveport-Bossier’s own Chef Niema DiGrazia of Abby Singer’s Bistro is among 11 renowned Louisiana-based chefs heading to New York City to showcase the state’s bold, unforgettable flavors at “Taste Louisiana.” On October 28, 2025, in partnership with Visit Shreveport-Bossier, Louisiana Travel Association, and the Louisiana Office of Tourism, Chef Niema DiGrazia will help highlight the unique culinary styles of our region as part of a state-wide effort to showcase Louisiana’s bold flavors to the nation.

On September 29, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Egan Street and Gilbert Street. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle in the 400 block of Egan Street with multiple bullet holes. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered 55-year-old Gerald Damon Washington, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
