On October 13, 2025, while participating in an organized retail theft operation in collaboration with several area retailers, Shreveport Police detectives were contacted by loss prevention personnel at T.J. Maxx regarding a male subject actively concealing merchandise. Loss prevention advised that a Black male suspect was observed selecting items, removing the price tags, and concealing the items on his person. Detectives remained on the phone with the complainant while positioned outside the store’s front entrance. Upon the suspect’s exit, SPD made contact and took him into custody without incident.

A Shreveport man has been arrested following a joint investigation into an armed robbery that occurred last month on Centenary Boulevard.

On October 5, 2025, the Shreveport Police Patrol Division responded to a report in which the victim stated that Kiera Moody had attempted to run him over. Detectives quickly initiated an investigation and made contact with the suspect, who was already in custody at Caddo Correctional Facility on unrelated charges.


Shreveport Police have arrested two convicted felons in separate incidents as part of the department’s ongoing effort to keep firearms out of the hands of those prohibited from possessing them.

On October 8, deputies from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Patrol investigated a case of sexual abuse against a juvenile in Caddo Parish. They contacted the Special Victims Unit, which conducted an interview with the suspect, 45-yearold Darrell W. Cotton. Following further investigation, Cotton was arrested on one count of third-degree rape.
