Shreveport Police Sex Crimes Detectives have arrested Carlos Daniel Hernandez Torres in connection with a sexual offense involving a young child. During the investigation, detectives conducted a forensic interview where the victim disclosed details of the assault. Additional interviews with the guardian and siblings provided further information.

A Caddo Parish jury on Wednesday convicted Tyler Ford Sr., 29, of sexually abusing a young girl over several years, according to the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office. The 12-member jury—five women and seven men—returned a unanimous verdict in under two hours on Dec. 3.

The Shreveport Police Department is reminding residents to think twice before taking items that don’t belong to them—especially if the item happens to be police property.

This past summer, I hosted my annual Leadership Camp for Youth. This free camp is another outreach to the youth of this community I have this office undertake as I see the reality of so many young males killing each other and throwing their own lives away.

Shreveport’s Director of Economic Development, Bill Sabo, has earned one of the profession’s most respected credentials, becoming one of fewer than 1,250 people worldwide to achieve the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation from the International Economic Development Council.
