What's Colvin Thinking?

What's Colvin Thinking?

Last week, I posed the question if Bill Belichick was actually considering the North Carolina job. Not long after my deadline, it was announced that indeed the EIGHT-TIME Super Bowl winning head coach was headed back to the college ranks to take over the Tar Heels. This could be interesting to see if his coaching style translates to the college ranks. I think he will just fine now that college kids are treated as professionals with the amount of money they are getting paid. In a bit of baseball news. As a lifelong New York Yankee, the news of outfielder Juan Soto signing with the cross-town Mets was not something I wanted to hear. The final numbers for Soto are staggering as he is set to receive $765 million dollars over the next 15 years with a cherry on top of $75 million as a signing bonus. Bananas. So, as I sat in my house wondering how the Yankees could have been outbid, I said to myself, self, what could the Yankees do with that much money they clearly have to spend (they offered $760 million). The answer has been impressive to say the least. First, they signed All-Star starting pitcher Max Fried; they then made a pair of trade. Last week, they traded pitcher Nestor Cortes and 1B Ben Rice to the Milwaukee Brewers for All-Star closer Devin Williams. Then Tuesday, they traded prospect for 2017 MVP OF/1B Cody Bellinger. They will pay the three All-Stars a combined $45 million next season; Juan Soto will make $55.

HUGE matchup in the Independence Bowl!

The 2024 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl will feature the Marshall Thundering Herd and the No. 22 Army West Point Black Knights, marking the first matchup of conference champions in the bowl since its inception in 1976. Marshall is led by Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year Mike Green, who broke the Sun Belt Conference record with 17.0 sacks on the season. The Herd also has one of the Group of Five's longest active bowl streaks, advancing to a bowl game for the eighth consecutive year.
