Let’s talk about weddings. So, my best friend is tying the knot, and let me tell you, it is a process. A process in which I love every detail. You see, I love weddings. I love every aspect of a wedding from the dress shopping to DYI touches.

Some people enjoy the structure of having a daily routine. I am not one of those people. I can do it for a time, and then I have to give myself a firm talking to. Where I would be happy to eat chips and onion dip for supper at least three times a week, I realize that I spoiled my family by feeding them a meal every day and now they actually expect it.

Well, it’s certainly going to be a different Turkey Day for most of us next week.

I returned from picking up one of my vehicles from a repair shop on Nov. 17. The front end of the vehicle needed an alignment. A previous visit earlier this year required alignment and other front-end repairs on my other vehicle. I average about two and a half frontend repairs a year. I travel Linwood Avenue a lot, near the Loop especially. Parts of Linwood in that area are like war-torn roads.

Ah, life’s abundant mysteries. Some are grand and sublime and help us approach the meaning of life. Then there are these lesser mysteries, both imponderable and irritating.
