The Shreveport City Council meeting Tuesday held up a mirror to our city, and what we saw wasn’t pretty. The gun deaths (71 so far) and injuries on our streets in this awful year 2020 bled right into the council chamber. The pain of some of the citizens who had survived the Wild Weststyle shootouts in their neighborhoods was wrenching to watch.
It was an adventure and a memorable one at that.

This past Thanksgiving holiday was, to say the least, an adjustment for many of our families. Mine was no exception. We visited our family via the usual technological devices. We ”thanked God” for the opportunity and the blessing(s) of being able to visit and share with one another because of technology.
The memory is vivid and vague – a sensation that intrudes more clearly than do any details of historical fact.
