Three wishes for Shreveport

An end to the Covid pandemic, the local shooting death epidemic and all the children singing in perfect harmony, judged only by the content of their character. Easy, but we do not have a magic wand here. We do have some special gifts, talents if you will, that can be turned into miracles in 2021 if we want.

Letter to the Editor

Excellent article by “Prentiss Smith-- it is not the Chief’s fault people are killing each other”!! As usual, sad commentary from James Green during the recent council meeting. Chief Raymond is doing a great job during a very difficult time in Shreveport. No one should endure such disrespectful treatment from an elected official.

The joy of singing!!

The joy of singing!!

Catching up on Shreveport’s Consent Decree

Catching up on Shreveport’s Consent Decree

There was a meeting of the Shreveport City Council Infrastructure Committee this week. It may have been the best Infrastructure Committee (IC) meeting that I have ever attended. Up for discussion was an active proposal by a company, Redaptive, that could save the city money by installing automated intelligence equipment into city buildings to control expenses on electricity and heat and air conditioning. The plan promises no out-of-pocket expense for the city and pays for itself in energy savings.
