The City of Shreveport will repair three Water Towers in the next few years. The repair provides an opportunity to redesign the exterior design on the Water Towers. Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux invited all Artists connected to Shreveport to submit proposal concepts for each of the three different Water Towers. The selected proposal will then be professionally designed and painted (by an outside firm) on the Water Tower. The design must be one that can be painted on the WATER TOWER(S) – there is no other medium for the design. (No use of vinyl, lights, sculptural additions, etc.)

Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington recently administered the Oath of Affirmation in a swearing-in ceremony for three new deputies and a corrections officer that have joined the Bossier Sheriff’s Office team.

Governor Jeff Landry signed into law Act 131 (HB 208) yesterday which addresses domestic violence offenses. The legislation was passed unanimously by both the House of Represents and the Senate to address domestic violence, including battery of a dating partner and domestic abuse by strangulation.

On Saturday, May 25, Deputies with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a sobriety checkpoint in the 4700 block of Palmetto Road in Benton. A total of 568 vehicles were screened during the operation. 27 drivers were administered field sobriety tests and none of them were deemed to be impaired. Sheriff Whittington is proud to report that there were zero arrest made for DWI and no citations were issued by deputies.
