Shreveport Businessman and Military Veteran Sentenced on Federal Charges!

United States Attorney Brandon B. Brown announced that Edward L. Angel, Sr., 71, of Shreveport, has been sentenced for theft of government funds and making false statements to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). United States District Judge David C. Joseph sentenced Angel to 3 years of supervised probation, with the first 6 months being served as home confinement. Angel was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $141,972.89 and a fine in the amount of $850,000.

Shreve Memorial Library is bustling with adventure and music this summer. The library’s “Adventure Begins at Your Library” Summer Reading Program continues into July with musical performances by River Cities Jubilee, Lady Chops, and The True Mission Matters (TMM) Project. Library patrons are invited to visit the library for free, riveting and interactive performances now through July 27. The performances are open to patrons of all ages.
