Great food, great music, just a great time! United Way of Northwest Louisiana shut down the Remington Garage in a major way as the organization celebrated its 10-year anninversary. Shreveport figures such as KOKA radio personality Pastor Ce Jay and former Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover were in attendance while some of the ladies of UWNWLA cut a rug to line dances and more. UWNWLA president and CEO LaToria Smith raved about the nonprofit organization's journey stating, 'This is such a momentous achievement to reach ten years, we’re grateful to partner with the city of Shreveport, and it’s great to watch it continue to grow and have a tremendous impact on the community!'

The Louisiana Department of Revenue announced the reopening of the LDR Shreveport Regional Office on Nov. 1. The Shreveport Regional Office will be open for walk-in customer service Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No appointments are needed.

The Centenary Theatre Program (CTP) will showcase student talent during a unique two-day festival format next month. CTP’s One-Act Festival, featuring six oneact plays with six different directors and casts, will be presented at Centenary’s Marjorie Lyons Playhouse on Thursday, Nov. 9, and Friday, Nov. 10. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. on both Thursday and Friday with three plays presented each evening. Amazon is entering into an agreement for a new last-mile facility in Caddo Parish. This new facility will be approximately 87,000 square feet at the Shreve Park Industrial Campus, located off Highway 3132. Launch plans for this delivery station are in the early stages, with construction scheduled to start in the coming weeks.

On Saturday, a fire damaged five businesses in the 2200 block of Benton Road, including Benton Auto Repair. Benton Road Auto Repair has been operating since 1955 and is third-generation family owned. The repair shop suffered severe damage to its northern building.
