Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards signed an act officially creating a voter registration holiday for high school seniors. According to the bill’s language, the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May shall be known as the Louisiana High School Voter Registration Day. The Bossier Parish School Board paid over $194,000 to SGB Architects in Fiscal Year 2022. In Fiscal Year 2023, over $163,000 has been paid through June 1.

Jeff Thigpen has been approved by the Bossier Police Jury and the Bossier City Council as a joint appointee for the MPC Board to replace Mark Montgomery. His term will expire on April 1, 2024. UPDATE – REOPENED: LA 782-2 (Industrial Drive.) over Mack’s Bayou in Bossier Parish. This work is complete, and the bridge has been reopened.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced a project to provide major repairs to a heavily traveled section of I-20 in Bossier City, as well as additional repairs along the I-20 corridor in Shreveport. Concrete patching repairs will be SPAR's Querbes and Huntington Park Golf Courses are in need of repairs. SPAR is asking the Shreveport City Council for $790,000 to renovate the courses. The money will go toward the repairs of irrigation at Huntington, repair of greens at Querbes and Huntington, cart path repairs and for the repair of the cart bridge at Querbes. These repairs will continue to make the courses comparable to local courses and courses that would not have to rely on the city’s general fund. Repairs have already started at both courses. The money is scheduled to be voted on by the Shreveport City Council on June 13.
