On Friday, Jan.17, at approximately 12:36 a.m., Shreveport Police Department (SPD) officers conducted a traffic stop on a white sedan after observing the vehicle cross the centerline of a two-lane divided roadway. The vehicle, traveling southbound on Fairfield Avenue, crossed into the opposing lane before officers activated their emergency lights and sirens.
On Jan.17, at approximately 3:24 a.m., Shreveport Police Department officers observed a vehicle improperly displaying a license plate.
On Jan.21, Shreveport Police Department Sex Crimes detectives were alerted by patrol officers to a reported sexual assault. Emergency interviews were conducted with the victim, a 13-year-old, who courageously disclosed details of the assault.
On Jan.18, at approximately 8:26 a.m., Shreveport Police Department officers responded to a burglary in progress at 8950 Gray Street. The homeowner reported seeing two unknown males inside his residence without consent.
Just after noon on Jan.10, Shreveport Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Durango in the 4100 block of Curtis Lane for failing to use a turn signal and not having a valid inspection sticker.
Violence in our community can manifest in unexpected ways. Shreveport Police have recently arrested two men in separate incidents involving assaults with unconventional weapons. December 31, 2024 – Irving Place At approximately 3:25 PM, officers responded to a report of assault and battery in the 1700 block of Irving Place. During the investigation, it was determined that James Youngblood assaulted a female victim at the location. Witnesses reported that the victim was outside a business smoking a cigarette when Youngblood approached her, took the cigarette from her hand, and struck her with a shovel.
On Jan.3, at approximately 11:19 p.m., Shreveport Police officers observed a red Kia Soul exiting the Circle K without its headlights activated.
Shreveport Police Department detectives have arrested Juadarius Hudson in connection with a violent domestic incident reported on Nov.20.
A woman is in custody following an arson incident that occurred on December 31, 2024, at approximately 1:53 p.m.
