Mac McClung wins THIRD straight NBA Dunk Contest!

Mac McClung wins THIRD straight NBA Dunk Contest!

It doesn’t matter that Mac McClung currently plays in the NBA G-League. When it comes to hops, Mac is the man. For the third year in a row, the 6’ 2” goody looking white kid playing for the Osceola Magic put on a show, winning the contest while jumping over a car on his way to the rim, among other impressive dunks. His performance caught the attention of some other famous NBA dunkers on social media. Ja Morant, Zach Lavine, Aaron Gordon and Giannis Antetokounmpo all made posts about a possible return to the contest, lining up a dream scenario for next years show. I’ll have my popcorn ready.

48th Independence Bowl!

No. 19/22 Army and QB Bryson Daily left little in terms of questions regarding the effectiveness of their triple-option attack on Saturday night versus the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. I wanted to see Daily run the ball, I saw the stats and wanted to see him back up the billing. He did just that.

What's Colvin Thinking?

What's Colvin Thinking?

Last week, I posed the question if Bill Belichick was actually considering the North Carolina job. Not long after my deadline, it was announced that indeed the EIGHT-TIME Super Bowl winning head coach was headed back to the college ranks to take over the Tar Heels. This could be interesting to see if his coaching style translates to the college ranks. I think he will just fine now that college kids are treated as professionals with the amount of money they are getting paid. In a bit of baseball news. As a lifelong New York Yankee, the news of outfielder Juan Soto signing with the cross-town Mets was not something I wanted to hear. The final numbers for Soto are staggering as he is set to receive $765 million dollars over the next 15 years with a cherry on top of $75 million as a signing bonus. Bananas. So, as I sat in my house wondering how the Yankees could have been outbid, I said to myself, self, what could the Yankees do with that much money they clearly have to spend (they offered $760 million). The answer has been impressive to say the least. First, they signed All-Star starting pitcher Max Fried; they then made a pair of trade. Last week, they traded pitcher Nestor Cortes and 1B Ben Rice to the Milwaukee Brewers for All-Star closer Devin Williams. Then Tuesday, they traded prospect for 2017 MVP OF/1B Cody Bellinger. They will pay the three All-Stars a combined $45 million next season; Juan Soto will make $55.

NFL bits!

Saints fall to 4-8 on the season and lose Taysom Hill in the process. The Lions and Eagle are on a collision course for NFC supremacy while it seems like its Kansas City and Buffalo in the AFC.
