For over five years many of my colleagues and I have agonized over the presence of blighted properties in our neighborhoods. During the campaign for City Council District G in 2014, blighted properties were a key concern in the district. They still are!

The next meeting of the Shreveport City Council on Tuesday, Oct. 13, could have a blockbuster agenda.

SHREVEPORT, LA – Shreve Memorial Library virtual programming is getting a little spooky this October. Just in time for Halloween, Shreve Memorial Library and paranormal investigator, Dustin Pari, will host Halloween: A Haunted History on Friday, October 16. The interactive, virtual lecture will be held via Zoom, and registration is required to attend.

I write today to address fans of a Covid-19 fashion trend: the mask mustache and mask goatee.

I recall or “recollect” my growing up years in rural Greenwood. In the late summer(s) and early fall(s), my cousins and I would play in the woods near our homes. Various wild fruits and berries, I think that’s what these were would fall from the trees and shrubs to the ground. We knew from experience which ones to eat. Some of these could be classified as delicacies. First bites were often the best bites! The sweet taste and “juicy juice” of some of these fruits and berries satisfied our palates.
