Just in time for Halloween, Shreve Memorial Library and paranormal investigator, Dustin Pari, will host Halloween: A Haunted History on Friday, October 16. The interactive, virtual lecture will be held via Zoom, and registration is required to attend.

I recall or “recollect” my growing up years in rural Greenwood. In the late summer(s) and early fall(s), my cousins and I would play in the woods near our homes. Various wild fruits and berries, I think that’s what these were would fall from the trees and shrubs to the ground. We knew from experience which ones to eat. Some of these could be classified as delicacies. First bites were often the best bites! The sweet taste and “juicy juice” of some of these fruits and berries satisfied our palates.
