Police charge man in rape of juvenile
Investigators with Shreveport Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit have jailed a man believed responsible for the rape of a juvenile.
On February 10, 2020, investigators launched an investigation into claims that 49-year-old Ray West sexually assaulted a juvenile under the age of thirteen. After a weeks-long investigation, detectives procured a warrant charging West with First Degree Rape. No bond was set.
On February 28, 2020, detectives, warrants officers, and members of the Shreveport City Marshall’s Office took West into custody at his residence in the 8300 block of Kingston Road. He was transported to the Shreveport Police Complex and following interviews with investigators was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
