A Shreveport man who led police on a high-speed chase through Shreveport in late 2022 was found guilty in Caddo District Court of aggravated flight from officers Tuesday, Jan. 23.
A Bossier Parish man was convicted Wednesday, Jan. 24, of assault and possessing a dangerous weapon while being a felon convicted of domestic abuse.
United States Attorney Brandon B. Brown announced that Juhntrayvious J. White, 20, of Shreveport, was sentenced today for illegally possessing a machine gun. United States District Judge Donald E. Walter sentenced White to 60 months in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release.
The Caddo Parish Grand Jury returned five true bills in its session that ended Wednesday, Jan. 24. Two charged area men with homicides in October 2023, and three charged men with sexual assaults and related crimes.
On Tuesday MLB announced the results of the 2024 Hall of Fame voting. Receiving at least 75% of the votes cast, three players made the cut. Former Ranger (with stops in Los Angeles and Seattle) great Adrian Beltre got in as a first timer on the ballot, receiving 95.1% of the votes. The NFL season for four teams can continue as we have now made it into Conference Championship weekend. Last week saw three great games and one blowout. The No. 1 seed Baltimore Ravens used the bye week they were afforded by securing that seed and laid the wood to the No. 4 seed Houston Texans. This came down to experience and leadership. While the Texans have leadership in both their head coach DeMeco Ryans and rookie quarterback C. J. Stroud, what they lack is depth. This rebuild happened faster than expected for the Texans, they’ll have to get creative in the draft and free agency to add a little more leadership. The primetime game on Sunday night saw the No. 3 seed Kansas City Chiefs on the road versus the No. 2 seed Buffalo Bills.
