State health officials have issued a final warning to Tinseltown USA in Shreveport after the movie theater failed a second health inspection, citing ongoing rodent problems and sanitation violations. According to newly released health inspection records, inspectors returned to the theater on Sept. 19 and Oct. 3 and discovered the same dead rats still sitting on traps from the previous inspection. They also reported seeing a live rat inside the building during the follow-up visit. Inspectors documented additional issues, including missing ceiling tiles and the use of expanding foam to seal holes—methods that violate state sanitary code. In an Oct. 9 letter to Cinemark representative Tiffany Boren, the Louisiana Department of Health warned that Tinseltown now faces possible fines, legal action, or even closure if immediate corrections aren’t made. Boren was ordered to attend an informal conference, where she acknowledged receiving multiple violation notices and admitted the issues had not been resolved. She agreed to correct all violations by Nov. 7. The agreement states that failure to comply could lead to fines of up to $100 per day, per violation—capping at $10,000 per year—and possible suspension or revocation of the theater’s operating permit.
