Missed me? Lately, my thoughts have been run amuck with all things sports and some things (gasp!) other than sports. For instance... Should Caitlin Clark forgo the WNBA and instead play in the Big 3? Will Juan Soto betting on himself pay off? Wrestling fans...what do you think will happen at WrestleMania? Last week, I asked a couple questions, here’s some of what I’m thinking. Is Shohei Ohtani the modern-day Pete Rose? Or is he just a naïve kid who trusted the wrong person? This one has quietly gone along this week without much new news. MLB is investigating so we should know more soon. I anticipate MLB finding that Shohei wasn’t at direct fault, therefore escaping suspension/banishment. Would you listen to a podcast featuring yours truly? I sure hope so... Check in next week to see my answers to these riveting questions and a new list of mind-bending inquisitions.

On Monday night, No. 1 Iowa took down last year’s champion, No. 3 LSU 94-87 in primetime on ESPN. The table was set for a historic rematch of last year’s loss to the Tigers in the national championship game. The game was a tight one throughout with both teams trading shots back and forth, making a difficult shot look as easy as a layup. The numbers are in from the game, and it was the most watched women's college basketball game in history with an average of 12.3 million views according to Nielsen. Most will scoff at that accomplishment, but let’s take it a bit farther.

I’ll start off slowly this year and just give you the top ten, as I see it. There is still a lot of moving pieces in this draft to be cleared up. The draft itself takes place from Thursday, April 25 through Saturday, April 27.

Borrowing from sports media legend Dan Patrick, that statement was one of the go-to catch phrases in the heyday of ESPN and Sportscenter. The her I am referring to is Iowa superstar Caitlin Clark. I’ve written about her before, and I anticipate writing about her again moving forward.

Shreveport city officials are trying to find a way to keep the speed zone cameras in school zone while state lawmakers discuss a bill to ban the use of speed cameras. Shreveport Chief Administrative Officer Tom Dark went before the Senate Transportation Committee to urge them to consider a compromise that would let cameras continue to enforce school speed zones.

A search committee of three members of the Shreveport Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and two members of the Downtown Shreveport Development Corporation will soon review the 15 applicants for the DDA Executive Director position.

Can the LSU Women’s basketball team make it through their bracket and make a run at back-to-back championships? So far so good as the Lady Tigers are scheduled to take on No. 2 seed UCLA on Saturday at noon on ABC. If they win there then they will play the winner of No. 1 Iowa vs No. 5 Colorado on Monday.
