The 85th Masters tees off with Dustin Johnson looking to defend his title

The first major of 2021 should be a fun four days with the biggest names in the sport, sans Tiger Woods, vying for the coveted green jacket and Master crown. Defending champion Dustin Johnson is looking to become the fourth golfer to win back-to-back jackets while Rory McElroy looks to get over the hump and win his first. The name everyone is talking about heading into Augusta is Jordan Speith, fresh off his win at the Texas Open last weekend. Spieth is playing great golf and is the trendy pick amongst the experts on the sport. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how well the Players Championship winner, Justin Thomas, is playing, and he would likely be my pick if I were forced to make a pick. Look for Johnson, Speith, Thomas to all contend and be in the hunt come Sunday. Other names to watch are Sergio Garcia, Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele, Matt Fitzpatrick and Max Homa. Sit back and enjoy everything. The Masters is this weekend, a beautiful display of both sport and pageantry. The Masters is going to be as picturesque as always and a true gem for any sports fan to enjoy.

Baylor wins 2021 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, takes down undefeated Gonzaga

Much was made by sports prognosticators (including your sportswriter) and the like about the Gonzaga men’s basketball team. They were on a historic fun and winning at a historic pace. They went into the championship game on Monday night undefeated, poised to be the first undefeated champion since 1976. All that stood in their way: the Baylor Bears. For some reason, Baylor’s accomplishments were minuscule in comparison to the Bulldogs from Gonzaga. Once the dust settled, Baylor has become the third team in men’s basketball history to knock off an undefeated team in a national championship game.
