School is out for the day, but some children have parents who work for a living and need an alternative to going to an empty house for a few hours.

Just call them “doctor.”

Nearly 40 students representing 10 different Caddo high schools have committed to becoming a teacher. These students participated in an Educators Signing Day as they pursue careers to become future educators.

Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation, in conjunction with Captain Shreve High School, will host Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run and Jr. Home Run Derby local competitions at Captain Shreve High School on June 8 at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

We’ve made to the time when the NBA gets really interesting; playoff basketball can be intense. This year there is an added element as a local team is actually still standing in the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavs will have their work cut out for them as they take on the NBA Championship favorite Golden State Warriors. The series tipped off on Wednesday and with the seven-game series schedule looking like this:

Of course they are, right? Those of us who tend to look at things through blackand-gold-tinted glasses always think there’s a chance the Who Dats will make it back to the big game. This season is no different, and with the recent move made by Mickey Loomis and friends, things are looking brighter and brighter in the Big Easy.

This past week, the NFL released their schedules for all teams for the 2022 season. I am going to list the schedules for the three local teams below.
