It was a beautiful Friday evening as walkers strolled historic Texas Street in downtown Shreveport for the quarterly Downtown ArtWalk on Friday, June 3. ArtWalk participants started on Texas Avenue at Minicine? for the Fields exhibit featuring Allison West, Britt Maddox, Helen Richard, Kendall Deshea and the Glitter Reef Collective, then travel to the Lofts at 624 for an exhibit by the Talented Arts Program at Caddo Magnet High School. Bailey Gallery at 214 Texas St. unveiled the new Hoover Watercolor Society Spring Exhibit that evening, too, and a variety of artists were set up all along the route, at the Lofts at 624, in the new Refine Design store at 616 Texas St., at Pop n’ Pizza at 500 Texas St., at Cookie B’s Smoothies and More, 431 Texas St. There was street dance and music, a history talk and a chance to Sketch the City with architect Mischa Farrell. The evening ended on the Shreveport riverfront with the first GloFest at the beautiful Bakowski Bridge of Lights. If you missed it, the next ArtWalk is Friday, Sept. 2. We’d love to see you there!
