Shreveport City Council passes new noise ordinance!

Shreveport City Council passes new noise ordinance!

At its Nov. 14 meetings, the Shreveport City council agreed on noise limits for bars and restaurants citywide of 75 decibels until 1 a.m. and 70 decibels until 7 a.m. The new ordinance reduces how loud a bar or restaurant can be from what the council passed in October, which set at 85 decibels until 2 a.m. and 80 decibels until 7 a.m. Mayor Tom Arceneaux vetoed the ordinance calling it too loud, saying he believed 70 decibels should be the maximum noise limit.
