Shooting Suspect Apprehended in Mansfield, La

One person has died and another is behind bars following a shooting in Mansfield.

According to the Desoto Parish Sheriff's Office, at approximately 11:50am, on January 31, 2020, DeSoto 911 Dispatchers received a call that a female had been shot near the 900 block of Railroad Avenue in Mansfield, La.

Dispatchers were given a description of the suspect and vehicle with an unknown direction of travel. First Responders immediately arrived to the scene while patrol deputies and investigators began a search for the suspect.

By 12:45pm, the suspect had been located and taken into custody. David White, of Grand Cane, La., was located on Blunt Mill Road and transported to the DeSoto Parish Detention Center.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. More details will be available at a later time as this investigation is still ongoing.
