#loveshreveport Citywide Cleanup

Great American Cleanup to team with city event

The Great American Cleanup, to be held from 8 a.m. to noon April 10, will join forces again this year with the City of  Shreveport for the #loveshreveport Citywide Cleanup. Some changes are in store this year, though, due to the implementation of COVID-19 precautions.

Gather a group of people you feel safe with, wear masks and observe social distances. We won't be able to gather to celebrate, but we will be giving prizes!

If you want to participate and just clean up, register and pick up T-shirts, bags and gloves. You can report your number of bags and number of volunteers to us via email. If you want to participate, cleanup and compete for prizes, you'll need to register and check PRIZE.You'll then need to bring all of your trash out to the Fair Grounds to be weighed before 11 a.m..

We encourage schools, neighborhood organizations, colleges, businesses, Boy and Girl Scout troops, faith-based institutions, and other civic and social clubs to spruce up their communities through trash cleanup or planting gardens. Citizens are welcome to join the movement to improve neighborhood streets, parks, schools, and waterways in Shreveport.

Our goal each year is the same: to enlist more volunteers than the year before, but find fewer pounds of litter to collect because our citizens are more and more committed to a clean city all year long.

Groups interested in participating should register their team here. For more information, contact Donna Curtis at 318-219-1888 ext.16. Register soon because the first 1,000 who sign up will receive free T-shirts.
