The April 24th election in Caddo Parish is a run off for the BESE Board.
On April 24 and 25, Broadway star Craig Schulman comes to Shreveport with guest vocalist Tamra Hayden to present a program filled with memorable tunes and well-loved favorites with the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra (SSO). Schulman is the only performer in the world to have appeared in the title roles of “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Jekyll & Hyde” and “Les Misérables” on Broadway.
LSU-Shreveport has been awarded the #1 Best in Louisiana Offering Graphic Design Programs designation in the PLEXUSS Global Rankings. The PLEXUSS Global Rankings, which evaluates programs based on student demand and preferences, were developed with extensive input from education partners, data scientists, employers, parents and high school counselors for prospective students to evaluate postsecondary options.

Southwestern Electric Power Co. (SWEPCO) has partnered with The National Theatre for Children (NTC) to educate students and their families about electrical safety with a new livestream program called “Captain Wattage.”

The Region I Science Fair took place virtually from Feb.y 22-25. Students in BRF’s EdVentures programs, including the Bio-Start Internship Program and the Bobbie Cates Hicks Science and Medicine Academic Research Training Program (SMART), participated. The BioStart program resides in the Biotechnology Magnet Academy at Southwood High School. Southwood won second place overall at the fair, with Caddo Magnet High School taking first place.

Sounds of the Shreveport Second Line Dance Brass Band flowed March 29 from the wraparound porch of Logan Mansion providing music to celebrate the opening of the Prohibition Club.
