Shreve Memorial Library shines bright with new LED lighting

SHREVEPORT, LA – Shreve Memorial Library is shining a little brighter these days thanks to a grant award from the Louisiana Public Service Commission. The library was awarded a $500,000 Public Entity Energy Efficiency Program grant in December 2019 to upgrade interior and exterior lighting at library branches across the city of Shreveport. New energy-efficient lighting installations not only provide cleaner, brighter light at the library, but also help to improve safety and reduce energy costs annually.

LSU stuns SEC East ‘shoe-in’ champion No. 6 Florida in The Swamp

Who saw that happening? I know I didn’t. The Tigers responded to their critics Saturday night in resounding fashion, winning 37- 34 in foggy Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The Gators’ almost-automatic kicker Evan McPherson missed a 51-yard field goal as time expired, ending the Gators’ title hopes. The ball sailed through the thick fog and looked good off the foot but wound up wide left. Moments prior to that miss, LSU’s kicker Cade York nailed a 57-yard field goal to give LSU the lead with 23 seconds left in the game.
