LSU Shreveport’s Greek organizations raised $1,762 in pennies for Roy’s Kids during its annual Greek Week.

Queens were there, too. Among them: Krewe Highland Queen Kathleen Clark and Centaur Lillian Richie I. Clark’s hubby, the late Jeff Clark, was a Krewe Highland king and Babineaux’s wife, the late Sue Babineaux, was Queen Centaur XII.

The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau launched its first Be a Fan Ambassador Tour after a one-year hiatus due to Covid-19. The tour is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 11, at 8:30 a.m. at the Downtown Shreveport Visitor Center, located at 629 Spring St. in Shreveport. This full-day excursion gives tour participants an opportunity to explore more than five experiential stops that rest along the banks of the Red River. Hosted quarterly, the Be a Fan Ambassador Tour encourages tourism professionals and residents to explore Shreveport-Bossier. Limited tickets are available.
BATON ROUGE, La. -- The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Shreveport Little Theatre will hold auditions on Saturday, May 15, for Stephen Schwartz’s “Children of Eden” to be performed in concert at First Baptist Church Shreveport.

Lt. Gov. Nungessor visited Benton last Tuesday, April 13. He was the guest of Mike Collier and Henry Cantrell at Cantrell’s barn on the family farm. Nungessor was invited to a “fireside” chat with local dignitaries and friends to discuss Louisiana politics and the state of the economy.
