Krewe Harambee King 22 Anthony Tisdale and Queen 22 Cherolyn Prescott will reign as top Harambee royals during the 22 Mardi Gras in the Ark-La-Tex festivities. They were crowned and sashed at Harambee’s Coronation earlier this fall at Sam’s Town Ballroom.

Guests are encouraged to gather at 10 a.m. for a briefing and solemn walk to the David & Sandy Long "Never Forget" Garden, with ceremonies to begin at 11 a.m.

Shreve Memorial Library is honoring military personnel, both past and present, with a series of events in celebration of Veterans Day. Veterans Day is recognized annually on Nov. 11 to honor veterans of all military branches who have served in war and in peace. Special Veterans Day programs, including the annual Freedom Tree lighting at the North Shreveport Branch, will take place Tuesday, Nov. 9, through Thursday, Nov. 11, at several Shreve Memorial Library branches. All programs are free and open to the public.
