Saturday was a busy day for your sports director as I had the pleasure of covering not only the 45th annual Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl, but I also was able to take in No. 19 LSU vs. Louisiana Tech men’s basketball Saturday night at The Sack in Bossier City.
Bossier Schools’ last day before adjourning for holiday break was made even more exciting when Superintendent Mitch Downey surprised three educators with news they were chosen to represent the district as its 2022-23 Bossier Parish Teachers of the Year.

The LSUS Computer Science Department has earned a top ranking in the University Headquarters (University HQ) 100 Most Affordable Cyber Security Schools ranking. The department, which includes both undergraduate and graduate degrees, was listed 19th in the nation.

Talk about a major award! Lyddy finished this past season with 53 touchdowns and 4,247 yards passing while leading the Cavaliers (11-2) to the Division IV state semifinals. Lyddy topped 300 yards passing eight times and threw for at least four TDs nine times. In two years as a starter, the 2020 First Team All-State selection threw for 7,813 yards and 96 touchdowns and now is the Gatorade Louisiana Football Player of the Year!
