CPSO Brings Heaven and Christmas together at CCC

Cpl. LaQuisha Pouncy's young niece, Heather and her sisters were in cloud-nine this week. They got to meet Mr. and Mrs. Clause in a room full of gifts, food, and their loving CPSO family.

Four-year-old Heather was recently diagnosed with cancer while her twin sister deals with health issues. Not long after finding out about her nieces' illness, Cpl. Pouncy faces a mother's nightmare. Her 21-year-old daughter is in the hospital still unable to walk after a senseless mass shooting in New Orleans on Dec.1.

"Each Christmas we help a family in need," Sgt. Marcus Hays said. "This year, we wanted to care for our own because [Pouncy]'s family has been going through a lot."

Deputies brought food and bought presents for each of the five sisters. The children unwrapped their gifts with big smiles on their faces as their Cpl. Pouncy and her mother shed tears of joy.

"I'm so overwhelmed and the girls are so happy," Pouncy said. "Thank you all so much.”
