Bossier City native among those on LSU 2019 Homecoming Court
BATON ROUGE – LSU has announced the 2019 Homecoming Court and is set to announce the queen and king on Saturday, Oct. 12. The court is comprised of 14 exceptional students that represent the sophomore, junior, and senior undergraduate classifications plus graduate, law, and veterinary school students, and many of the university’s most dynamic student organizations. Only the six senior court members are eligible for king or queen honors.
The Homecoming Court is an annual tradition that recognizes exemplary members of the LSU student body. The Homecoming Court is chosen in a multi-stage selection process that includes an application review round, a round of interviews with judges, and a vote by the LSU student body for king and queen. The LSU Homecoming Queen and King will be announced at halftime during the LSU vs. Florida football game on Saturday, Oct. 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

All currently enrolled LSU students are eligible to vote for the 2019 Homecoming King and Queen on TigerLink accounts using their LSU student credentials. Voting began Sept. 30 at 5 p.m. and continues through 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.
In 1933, LSU selected its first Homecoming queen. Marguerite Bass was chosen by the student body president and reigned with a princess and seven maids. In 1992, LSU began selecting a Homecoming King to reign with the queen. In 2015, LSU elected its first international royalty, King Michael Panther Mayen, from South Sudan, Africa, who returned in 2019 to share his experiences with the 2019 Court. This year’s Court will be also joined by 2018 Queen Sarah Perkins and King Daniel Wolf.
LSU Homecoming Week is presented by LSU Campus Life, a unit within the Office of the Dean of Students and the Division of Student Affairs, and the LSU Center for Academic Success.
