A Shreveport man accused of drug and gun crimes pleaded guilty in Caddo District Court Monday, March 4, 2024, just as his trial was set to begin.

A Felon in possession of a firearm is off the streets, thanks to Shreveport police officers.

On Thursday, Feb. 29, the Bossier Sheriff’s Office JCAT/Narcotics Team conducted a compliance check operation targeting stores in Bossier Parish to make sure they are not selling alcohol to persons under the age of 21. Altogether, 13 stores were checked in the operation.

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a domestic shooting.

Deangelo Whitaker, one of three men charged in the shooting death of Emmanuel King in May 2021, was found guilty on Thurday, Feb. 29, of second-degree murder in Caddo District Court.

The Shreveport Police Department has arrested 33-year-old Taurrez Richardson in connection with a sexual assault reported on Feb. 28.

Caddo Sheriff's detectives have arrested a Shreveport man for the sexual assault of a juvenile and improper behavior with another underage person.

Shreveport Police Property Crimes Detectives are reaching out to the community for their assistance in identifying a suspect believed to be responsible for a theft incident on Jan. 9.
