The Shreveport Police Sex Crimes Unit has arrested 34-year-old Christopher Christaw on one count of Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. This arrest follows a thorough investigation into a reported crime against a minor.
Shreveport police are investigating after a man reportedly died while playing with a firearm early Tuesday morning.
On Friday, April 12 at 10:30 a.m., officers from the Shreveport Police Department responded to a call concerning the sexual assault of a minor. Following a thorough investigation by the diligent detectives of the Shreveport Police Sex Crimes Unit, 28-year-old Devonte Joseph was apprehended.

On April 4th at approximately 11:50 p.m. VICE officers observed a suspicious individual sitting in a vehicle in the 1000 block of Stoner Avenue and the Stoner Boat Lauch. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the individual, identified as 44-year-old James Owens, had a firearm. Subsequent inquiries revealed that James Owens was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a prior felony conviction. Consequently, Owens was taken into custody by VICE officers for the charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The firearm in question was seized, and Owens was promptly transported to the Shreveport city jail for processing. Possession of firearms by convicted felons is a serious offense, and we will continue to diligently enforce the law to ensure the safety of our community.
The Shreveport Police Department arrested Kenyoun Gilyard, aged 43, following a traffic stop conducted on March 30, at approximately 1:30 a.m. Guillard was operating a vehicle at Financial Plaza and Pines Road when officers initiated contact.
At approximately 11:48 a.m. on April 5, Shreveport Police Patrol officers responded to a concerning report of an armed individual inside of a bar in the 3000 block of Girard Street, at “The Cub.” The call indicated a white male, reportedly armed with a firearm, had been sighted within the establishment.
A student at Southwood High School was arrested today for making threats involving school safety, said Caddo Sheriff Jay Long.
