Delandro Fleming, the man accused of fatally shooting an elderly man last week as the victim arrived at his daughter's home, should have been in jail at the time but had been mistakenly released, likely due to a clerical error, court records obtained by KTBS 3 News show.

Just after midnight on June 17, 2024, Shreveport Police officers responded to a call regarding an assault and battery in the 3100 block of Woodlawn Avenue. Upon arrival, officers arrested 48-year-old Michelle Mitchell, who had stabbed a household member with a knife during the incident.

A trip to the grocery store turned violent when a man was attacked in a Shreveport Walmart. “I had never seen this guy, I hadn’t seen him in the parking lot, there was no altercation,” Lonnie Blansit, who was attacked in the Walmart store at Shreve City, told KSLA News 12 in an exclusive interview.
