A second suspect has been arrested in connection with this week's homicide in the 4300 block of Linwood Avenue.



A man who tried to set himself and police officers on fire, another man who reportedly kicked officers after threatening a family member and a third accused of headbutting and kicking officers during a domestic situation found themselves behind bars this weekend in separate incidents where they are accused of battery on police officers.

Authorities have arrested Ledonald Sanders, 40, on one count of 2nd-degree murder. He is accused of the shooting death of a man Monday evening in the 3600 block of Hollywood Avenue in Shreveport.

A drunken man in Shreveport has been arrested for reportedly trying to run his girlfriend over with a car, then assaulting multiple police officers.


Agents with the Shreveport Police Vice Unit have arrested 50-year-old Cody Naquin on charges related to the solicitation of a minor.
On May 31, detectives from the Shreveport Police Department’s Juvenile Services responded to a local hospital concerning a 16-month-old child who had ingested marijuana. The child’s godparents informed detectives that they were contacted by the daycare after the child became ill and vomited what was believed to be marijuana. The daycare staff had been unable to reach the child’s mother.
The Shreveport Police Department had a busy weekend, making a number of DWI arrests. The series of arrests began May 30 and continued through the weekend.
Bossier City Police Chief Daniel Haugen wants to warn our local citizens of a scam that targets elderly and unsuspecting victims. In this latest scam the victims are contacted by mail or by phone and told that they have received a large prize from Publishing Clearing House. The victim then is sent a check that looks real for a large amount.
