Shreveport Police have arrested DeAndre Washington, 21, for numerous offenses following a traffic stop that began at Jewella Avenue and Hollywood Avenue.

A Shreveport man was arrested for possessing multiple images of child pornography, said Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr.

Detectives with the Shreveport Police Sex Crimes Unit have added more charges to 43-year-old Cortez Lane. Lane, who is currently awaiting trial for molestation of a juvenile, is now facing an additional charge of seconddegree rape for an unrelated matter.

Four of five people indicted Thursday by a Caddo Parish grand jury are accused in separate homicides, while other charges involve weapons crimes and sexual assaults.

On July 21, Shreveport police officers observed a Honda Accord traveling on Line Avenue with a canceled license plate. As officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated and fled. During the pursuit, the vehicle left the roadway and wrecked before finally coming to a stop at Kingston Road and Elmview Place.

A man was charged for the alleged shooting near a Whataburger, injuring one woman and killing another.

On July 22, at approximately 10 a.m., members of the Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Abatement Team responded to the 4200 block of Lakeshore Street in reference to a domestic violence call. With the assistance of patrol officers and Shreveport Police K-9 units, 25-yearold Leon Williams was arrested and found to be in possession of an automatic weapon. No injuries were reported.

Bossier Sheriff’s detectives say Michael Vallone, 65, of the 5700 Block of Bayou Drive, Bossier City, was being investigated by detectives for possessing pornography involving juveniles.
