A Shreveport man is accused of crashing his car into a police cruiser.

Two-hundred five arrests and 39 firearms seized were the results of the latest federal initiative to battle violent crime in the Shreveport-Bossier area.

Detectives with the Shreveport Police and Caddo Parish White Collar Crimes Task Force are requesting the public’s assistance in locating Luis Gonzales-Arevalo. The 35-yearold man is wanted in connection with a contractor fraud case that occurred in April 2024.

A shoplifting incident turned violent on Aug. 9 at approximately 5 p.m., when a Shreveport Police Officer was contacted at the Walmart located in the 1600 block of West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. The officer was contacted by the store manager, who reported that a male suspect was attempting to conceal items inside the store. The manager had already attempted to confront the suspect but was unsuccessful as the man was instantly confrontational.


On Aug. 12, at approximately 10:51 p.m., Shreveport Police Department (SPD) patrol officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 400 block of Dalzell Street. While en route, officers were informed that the gunfire originated from the alleyway behind this location.

The Shreveport Police Department has arrested 18-yearold MaKayla Stanton following a violent domestic incident that took place on Aug. 10, in the 6700 block of Raspberry Drive.

The Louisiana Supreme Court justice who oversees courts in Caddo Parish has intervened in a plan by Caddo District Court judges to add a sixth criminal court section to speed up their dockets, ordering an outside judge to review whether it's the right move given the current court situation and the costs.

The Shreveport Police Department has arrested Joshua Williams, who was wanted in connection with a string of armed robberies in the area.

On Aug. 5, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Shreveport Police officers were dispatched to Southern Hills Park, located in the 1000 block of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, in response to a report of a suspicious person.
