Shreveport Police Department Sex Crimes Detectives have arrested Maxell Vann Coates Jr., a 72-year-old on two counts of second-degree rape following a report made on Dec.1.

A woman shot and killed early Sunday in the Highland neighborhood has been identified by the Caddo Parish Coroner's Office after a man shot her to death early Sunday, Nov.17 in Shreveport's Highland neighborhood.

On Nov.15 at approximately 11:50 a.m., Shreveport Police Department juvenile crimes detectives were contacted by staff at Southern Hills Elementary School regarding allegations of abuse involving a 9-year-old student.
